| Despite all of the dog sports Trio is involved in, the most important job that she has and the one that she excels at, is being a wonderful family pet. She has the typical toller temperament as stated in the CKC Breed Standard. She is a people dog, very attached to me and my family, ready and able to meet new challenges and experiences head on. She is a calm house dog yet always ready at a moments notice for ANY activity! Trio stands 18" tall, with correct leg length to body proportion, medium boned with medium substance. She is a very athletic 35 lbs. One look at her and there is no doubt that she can do the job that she was bred for. She has a level top line, good angles and wonderful movement. She carries an abundant golden/red coat, with white in all the right places. Her dam, BISS Can. Am. Ch. Jagador's Sophie Mahone CD, is a very sweet girl who has proven herself over and over again in the conformation ring by winning many Group placings. I see Sophie on regular occasions and she really does have a wonderful easy to live with temperament. Trio also has two litter sisters. Can Ch. Westerlea's Ceilidh Mahone TD CD WCX SH CGN, owned by Maureen & Lyle Ashbaugh, has incredible speed and marking ability in her field work. Her other sister, Roux, is the family hunting dog of Deb & Tom Vaida. Trio's sire, Westharbour's Roter Yaeger WC, owned and bred by Cindy Richardson, is also a calm outgoing dog. Even though Trio is retired from breeding she is far from ready to become a full time couch potato! In between hunting seasons, Trio and I are now working at completing her SENIOR HUNTER title. She has three qualifying scores to her credit. Earning the first in April 2008, the second in May 2009 and the third on Sept. 19, 2009 UPDATE! Trio earned her SENIOR HUNTER TITLE May 2010 when she spanked the test and received her fourth qualifying score. Trio is my first toller, my first show dog, first obedience dog, first hunting dog and now my first Senior Hunter as well! She is also the second Senior Hunter NSDTR in British Columbia... with her litter sister, Maureen Ashbaugh's Ceilidh, being the first. Trio is all owner trained and handled. However, we have been very fortunate to have good people standing beside and behind us, and out in the field for us too. We certainly couldn't have done it with out all their help. I wouldn't change a thing about the journey this little dog has taken me on. I am thrilled and pleased beyond words Trio is now moving on to MASTER SEAT WARMER TRUCK DAWG. …and perhaps some agility, some HRC Hunts and of course she’ll still be my hunting dog! |

| Trio proved herself an all-round toller in the conformation ring, obedience ring and in the field by obtaining her CHAMPIONSHIP, her COMPANION DOG title and her WORKING CERTIFICATE title at under 2 years of age. The DOBIRSTEIN AWARD was presented to Trio at this time in recognition of her versatility. Trio passed the final leg of the JUNIOR HUNTER, for the title, and the WORKING CERTIFICATE INTERMEDIATE tests in the Spring of 2006. She earned her COMPANION DOG EXECELLENT title with qualifying scores in three straight trials over one weekend in March 2008. She marks like a dream, has a great nose, and an impressive water entry. Her blind work has been impressing the judges and the gallery at the last tests. She is completely novice owner trained and handled so it has been a real upward learning curve for both of us but we are well on our way. During duck season I hunt over Trio. I'm very fortunate as Trio and I go hunting at least three times per week. My son, Scott, has started hunting with me and has realized what an asset Trio is in the field and the water! In March 2008, after a three year hiatus from the obedience ring, Trio and I qualified three for three and earned her COMPANION DOG EXCELLENT title. She had earned one leg while pregnant with her first litter three years previous to this time. That's it for the obedience ring for Trio. Now back to the field! |
