Trio comes to us from Westerlea Kennel here in Vancouver, British Columbia in early 2003.

She is our first toller and the journey we have been on together is nothing short of amazing!

Trio proved herself as an all-round toller in the conformation ring, obedience ring and in the field by obtaining her CHAMPIONSHIP, her COMPANION Dog title and her WORKING CERTIFICATE title all by the time she was two years old.

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Canada DOBIRSTEIN AWARD was presented to Trio at this time in recognition of her excellence in versatility.

Trio stands 18" tall, with correct leg length to body proportion, medium boned with medium substance. She is a very athletic 35lbs.

One look at her and there is no doubt that she can do the job that she was bred for. She has a level top line good angles and clean movement. She carries and abundant orange coat with white in all the right places.

Trio passed the final leg of the JUNIOR HUNTER, for the title, and the WORKING CERTIFICATE INTERMEDIATE tests in the Spring of 2006.

Testing for JADD & CP1 became available after Trio was retired from breeding

In March 2008, after a three year hiatus from the obedience ring, Trio and I qualified three for three over one weekend, earning her the COMPANION DOG EXCELLENT title!

Trio earned her WORKING CERTIFICATE EXCELLENT title in August 2008 as well. The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club (USA) presented Trio with the "Evelyn A. Williams Award Of Excellence" at this time.

Now it was on to our quest for the SENIOR HUNTER title!

Trio marks like a dream, has a great nose and an impressive water entry that will make even the most seasoned competitor laugh at seeing the little red dog literally take a flying leap! Her blind work impressed judges and the gallery a like.

She earned her final qualifying score of her SENIOR HUNTER title during May 2010 when she spanked the test!

At that time, Trio was the second toller in British Columbia to earn a SENIOR HUNTER title. Her litter sister, Maureen Asbaugh's, Ceilidh, was the first. Trio's daughter, Tikka, is currently the third.

I couldn't be any prouder of what we have accomplished together; I am thrilled and pleased beyond words!

I started duck hunting with Trio in 2005. We were very fortunate to have gotten out at least three times a week during the season as this made our test season much more "real." My son, Scott, started hunting with Trio as well and quickly learned what an asset it has to have her in the field and water.

In between all this time in the field and obedience rings Trio also whelped three wonderful litters that resulted in bunch of pretty special puppies. Our second toller Tikka, OTCH BPIS BPISS CH Kasomor's Wack 'Em N Stack 'Em SH WCX CGN, is from our Trio x Worf litter.

Trio has now moved on to MASTER SEAT WARMER TRUCK DAWG... a "job" that she takes very seriously, just ask her!

Trio was completely novice owner trained and handled, in every venue, so it was a real upward learning curve for both of us. However, we were very fortunate to have good people standing beside and behind us, and out in the field for us too. We certainly couldn't have achieved all we did with out all their help. While it was certainly not with out its challenges, I would not change a thing about the journey this little dog has taken me on.

Yet, despite all the dog sports Trio was involved in the most important job that she has and still excels at, is being a wonderful family pet!

She has the typical toller temperament as stated in the CKC Breed Standard. She is very attached to me and the family. She LOVES when people come to the house because they usually will let her jump in their lap and of course, she thinks all visitors are here to see HER! Meet her on the street and you might as well be invisible because she ignores everyone unless they have something to throw. Show her a bumper or especially, a bird and she is ecstatic!

Trio died on Jan 2, 2018. We were together for 15 years, almost to the day,
